Audio-Only Recording in Mobile App

It appears there is no way to make an audio-only recording using the mobile app. I had been investigating using the mobile app as a way for students to record audio interviews while out in the field. This solution would allow them to get their content into Panopto quickly, where they could take advantage of the editor and automatic captioning features.
