In the Panopto Editor, requesting feature to move audio to align with action on a clip or stream.

edited June 2020 in Feature Requests

In the Panopto Editor, requesting feature to move audio to align with action on a clip or stream in a session.  The current workaround is to move the secondary clip -0.5 seconds forward or backward or re-record the audio.

I like this a lot. Being able to get more control to manipulate the audio stream independently would solve a few headaches and make life easier for sure!

  • This would greatly improve our workflow when we have audio sync issues, vs download webcast, import to premiere, sync up, export, reimport, process that can take up to a few hours for longer recordings.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've flagged this with our team, and we're considering it for a future release.

  • Thank you, Brianna! I would add that it it doesn't necessarily have to be free movement of the audio track sliding on the timeline, even just a button in the "Edit Stream" window (like where "Start Time" is) that's "Shift Audio >/Shift Audio <" and does it in 0.5s increments. That may be easier to develop than an "unlink audio" style feature.

  • I agree with Bo! It is a bit cumbersome to have to export the entire recording for an otherwise minor adjustment. The settings for delaying video portions of recordings have been very helpful, and having a similar system for audio would be even better.
