Re: Add "show scheduled recordings" button to LTI/LMS view
I think in the course context, this checkbox could even be a default on situation. That way it could be used as a schedule of sorts when folks are webcasting lectures (we have a few that do). While we are at it, could we also put a refresh button there in the LMS tool?
Re: Add "show scheduled recordings" button to LTI/LMS view
1000 times yes! So I don't have to send this 5 step process to every faculty who requests an automated recording:
Follow these steps to verify the recording schedule:
1. Login to Brightspace (UB Learns)
2. Click on “Classroom Recordings” in the table of contents.
3. Click on “Panopto Content”
4. Click the "arrow moving out of a square” icon to Open in Panopto.
5. At the top of the course recordings page in Panopto, click the clock icon to show the upcoming recordings.
It is so very annoying.
Re: Add "show scheduled recordings" button to LTI/LMS view
God yes. I've had faculty freak out when they couldn't see upcoming recordings.
Re: Support Canvas "Homework Submission" LTI 1.3 placement
When Panopto Capture first rolled out I suggested one great use case would be for creating assignments.
The instructor creates an assignment in Panopto and specifies the destination, whether they want to allow multiple attempts, minimum and maximum length, etc.
Then they could get a link which could be shared with their students either within the LMS or externally.
When student click on the link, they only need to grant access to the camera/mic/screen, hit record (and/or retry), and submit.
Their name, attempt number, and assignment name would be pre-filled in the title. Since the destination folder was already configured and unchangeable, there was nothing else they needed to do.
Capture could be a great tool for student submissions if they just finished developing it.
Re: Missing th choice to insert a link instead og embed code for a Panopto video in the editor in Canvas
Those of us in Brightspace D2L would also love to have the option to use a URL (once called Panopto Video Link) instead of the embed. The embedded videos take up too much real estate on the page.
Making the default size of the embed smaller would also help, but a Panopto connected link would be the bomb.
Re: Add a "Save as" option in the editor (with an option to include destructive cuts)
I'm surprised this hasn't gain more traction! We have users that copy videos to edit them into mulitple, shorter sessions. This is easiet for the user, but it can really drive up the number of stored hours.
It would be great if everyone could have a destructive editing subfolder in their My Folder. That could be another way to cut down on the accidental deletion of content.
Re: Add a "Save as" option in the editor (with an option to include destructive cuts)
I agree that this is an important feature for higher ed! Please reconsider.
Re: sound monitor on remote recorder
I would love for the live audio monitoring for RR clients to work on Seneca-branded hardware Remote Recorder machines.
Re: Missing th choice to insert a link instead og embed code for a Panopto video in the editor in Canvas
I second this! This is a feature we had in our old system and one that is very much missed by our staff.
Adding URLs instead of embeding the player makes it much easier to keep things tidy in Canvas.
