I would like the ability to create a shortcut to a folder which can be displayed within a folder. Ideally the folder shortcut would look like a subfolder.
This would allow us to populate a folder of content and easily re-use it across multiple courses.
Right now, if I want to switch to a different language in the embedded player I need to pull up the menu, then I need to click on the 3 dots in the top-right corner, then I need to click the closed captions butten and only then I will see the language selection option. Which is actually not easy for our users.. please consider a simpler language selection popup when clicking the CC button in the embedded player.
Users who leave the institution often have Archived Videos. Those videos may need to be managed by another user. Current process requires Admin to access a user account, and click Move to move active videos to another user account--but the archived videos don't give that option.
Moving any archived video requires first clicking Restore from Archive . . . then waiting 2 days . . . then returning and attempting the move again.
Please enable the Move feature to work for Archived videos, too.
Professionals recommend to break long sentences into two equal parts to enhance Captions readability.
I do not find that feature in Panopto´s Caption Editor.
I find the Panopto folder structure interface (icons and layout) dissimilar to more common interfaces like one would see in Windows or IOS.
This has lead to students (and other users like me) not noticing that there are subfolder within a folder where they might find the video they are looking for. Even though I am familiar, I overlooked the existence of subfolder MULTIPLE times.
I would like to suggest a more commonly used graphic user interface more similar to what you see in the BROWSE menu or would see on Windows or Mac to make it more intuitive to all users. Specifically
- 1. larger folder icons and names
- 2. nested vertically with arrows to open them
- 3. including and item count in each folder so you don't have to open folder just to find out they are empty
- 4. Move or add "Add Folder" Icon to menu that includes Filter by Date and Refresh above
I love Panopto and just want to make it as awesome as possible.
Missing th choice to insert a link instead og embed code for a Panopto video in the editor in Canvas
In Canvas, instructor can embed Panopto content directly from the rich text editor, through the Panopto-button within the editor. But there is no possibility to insert the URL only.
Today, instructor must
- - leave the rich text editor in Canvas and go into Panopto
- - find the right video/podcast
- - get hold of the URL
- - AND set the viewer-settings correct
There should be a choiceto insert the URL directly from the Rich Text Editor in Canvas.
