Blackboard Course Copy
By default, if we do a course copy in Blackboard from one year or semester to a new year or semester, it looks like students in the new course automatically get provisioned to view the recordings in the old course. Is this correct?
If an instructor wanted to do a course copy but didn't want the new students to have permissions on the previous folder's videos for whatever reason, is there a way to tell Blackboard to now copy over the permissions, and let the instructor provision the new course as normal?
Thank You.

Hi Kevin,
To confirm, this is a setting in the Panopto building block, as detailed in step 1.9. of How to Set Up a Blackboard Integration Using the Building Block - specifically, the setting "Blackboard course copy also copies Panopto permissions," which determines whether users enrolled in the new course can see Panopto content created for the old course when Blackboard courses are copied. If it is enabled, the Panopto Viewer and Creator groups from the new course folder are added to the old course's folder as viewer groups.
As such, we cannot disable this for specific courses if this particular setting is enabled. If they want, an instructor can remove groups from the sharing menu of a source course (old course) folder to revoke students in the destination course (new course) folder from accessing the old course's folder.
If you have any more questions, please let us know - we're always happy to help!

Hi Cait,
Thanks for the follow up. I believe what you mention in step 1.9 is how our Blackboard admins have things setup. And removing groups and then re-configuring a course is how we've solved the problem.
Thanks
