"Click to sign in..." workflow changes

I am not sure what can be done, but the user flow from hitting an embed that requires sign in to viewing the video is far from ideal. The first, and biggest, hurdle currently is that browsers now default to blocking the pop up that Panopto presents to authenticate users. For many this is fine, they know what they need to do to unblock themselves. For another major group of users, they just see that the embed doesn't work, and the button they click to play the video does nothing.

In some cases, we can just remove the authentication bit. In other cases, we need the video to be behind a login.

Is it possible to open this dialog in a way where browsers will support it?
