What can prevent viewing stats from being reported in Panopto?

Aside from an ad blocker, what can prevent viewing stats from being reported in Panopto?

    Hi @robert Wilkerson,

As you mention, some ad blocking plugins/extensions within your browser, such as AdBlock, may interfere with the capture of analytics. Additionally, it is possible for sessions to have share permissions, either manually set or inherited, that require no authentication. In this case, Viewers who are not logged in are displayed as "Anonymous" viewers, who cannot be easily tied to an individual / name, but for whom stats are still reported.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask - we're always happy to help!

    Best wishes,
    Cait

  • If a viewer watches a presentation at 2x speed or more does analytics count this as a viewing?

    Hi @robert Wilkerson,

A view constitutes any segment viewed from the playback. If a user simply opens the session in the Viewer without selecting play, this is not considered a view; however, any segment viewed in the playback will be considered a view, including if it is sped up or slowed down using variable speed playback.

I did check with my colleagues to see if anything else might impact analytics, and one person added that using outdated/unsupported browsers might impact statistics, as we only support the latest versions of Chrome,
    Edge (Chromium-based), Firefox, and Safari.

    Best wishes,
    Cait
