Locate the folder to where a video is placed, based on URL or link

I would like an administrator tool to easily look up the location of a video based on its URL or link.
Often we just have a link to a recording. I spend a lot of time locating it in the server hierarchy. The link only give me the name of an owner, but as an admin I would like some more info.
