Recording multiple audio tracks to select between channel sources in the Panopto editor

Last week Epiphan released new firmware for the Pearls to allow embedded audio to be recorded on secondary channels when recording and pushing to Panopto. This has long been on my feature request list, so I'm very happy to have this now.

My next wish is to be able to access these secondary embedded audio tracks in the Panopto editor

I would love to have secondary tracks available within the editor. One use case we are considering is to have the primary track with lavalier audio from the faculty, but send a backup audio from the classroom automixer of ceiling microphones to the secondary channel as a backup. Currently, I monitor all recordings and if the faculty fails to wear or turn on a microphone, we notify AV who runs to the classroom and them to wear or turn on the mic. In rooms with ceiling mics, I remotely turn those on via the Crestron Xpanels so we get some audio on the capture.

If it could be automated that embedded audio captured on the secondary tracks also can be used in the Panopto editor, I could routinely capture the ceiling mics on those tracks and in instances where the lav fails (or the faculty fails) I wouldn't have to have someone run to the room, or monitor every capture, and could then go into the editor and switch the primary audio track with one of the secondary ones for the capture.

Hopefully, others will find this a good feature suggestion as well.
