Support Setting Availability When Scheduling a Recording via REST API
Dear Panopto Support,
We are developing middleware that schedules recordings using your POST /api/v1/scheduledRecordings
endpoint. We’ve identified a significant limitation: it is currently not possible to set the Availability of a recording at the time of scheduling via the REST API.
We understand that Availability is typically controlled by the settings of the destination folder. However, our use case requires per-recording control. For instance, a folder may be configured with an availability of “Never,” but a department admin may wish to have a specific scheduled capture made available immediately or at a set time.
We understand that this functionality is available via your SOAP API, but we are committed to using the REST API for this integration to align with modern standards and long-term sustainability.
While we recognise this might involve deeper structural changes, we would still like to advocate for this feature or at least a workaround that could be considered. We are happy to discuss our requirements in detail and assist in any way that may help expedite implementation.
