Percent Viewed Available to Students

Hello,

While instructors can leverage the 'Grade on % viewed' assignment setting, students currently have no readily available way to verify the percentage of the video they've watched directly within Panopto. This creates uncertainty and frustration, as students are left guessing whether they've met the viewing requirement. Relying solely on Blackboard gradebook entries is insufficient, as Panopto documentation itself acknowledges potential delays in score updates. Implementing a visible "percent viewed" indicator directly on the Panopto player, or a simple "completed" checkmark upon full viewing, would provide students with immediate feedback and transparency, ultimately enhancing their learning experience and reducing unnecessary anxiety surrounding assignment completion. This small addition would greatly improve the usability and effectiveness of Panopto for graded video assignments.

From Panopto Documentation:
There is a delay of three hours from when the student has started watching the video until grades are sent to Blackboard Ultra, resulting in a delay in their grade. In some cases, grades may take up to 24 hours to push to the gradebook.

Thank you for your consideration!

Doug
