Panopto Core
- Improved accessibility by adding a language attribute to the root <html> tag on all VCMS pages, which allows screen readers and other assistive technologies to pronounce the text on various page elements correctly. This change will automatically be applied to all sites with no additional action required.
- Improved keyboard and screen reader accessibility for the main video lists in the VCMS. This change will automatically be applied to all sites with no additional action required.
- Updated our Hive integration with Hive’s latest version. This plug-in will support Hive Agent Enhancements (Hive WebRTC: a unified peering solution), Engagement Indicators (instant event summary reports to understand employee engagement), Hive Control (real-time video quality level adjustments during live events), Throughput Manager Support (smooth video delivery for weak network segments), among other enhancements. This change will only impact customers that integrate their Panopto site with Hive. The plug-in will automatically update with no additional action required.
- Updated the embed player for archived videos to include additional session information to make it easier for users to determine if they should restore the session or not. There is no setting associated with this change. It will automatically be applied to all sites with no additional action required.
- Added the ability to publish a video within the 3 dot dropdown menu on a video's thumbnail within the Share tab. There is no setting associated with this change. It will automatically be applied to all sites with no additional action required.
- Adds a Viewer Completion tab and report to the video settings, which indicates which users have completed the affirmation. This functionality is controlled by the “Manage - Completion affirmation prompt” setting. Only when this setting is enabled will these changes be applicable.
- Updated LTI 1.3 multiple deployments feature for Canvas to now additionally support the 'Allow students to insert videos' setting. This allows customers to configure their Canvas integration to automatically allow students to record in certain depts/subaccounts but not all. This functionality is controlled by the optional Multiple LTI 1.3 Deployments feature for Canvas and Brightspace LTI 1.3 integrations.
- Updated the Canvas LTI 1.3 integration so customers can optionally place a Panopto link on Canvas' far left global navigation bar. To learn more about configuring this, please see our Support article, here. This functionality is optional and can be enabled by adding an additional placement to the LTI Developer Key in Canvas.
- Added an admin setting under System > Settings called 'Remote Recorder - Days to Send Schedule'. This setting controls how many days in advance the remote recorder will sync the recording schedule for. This setting has a hard limit of 90 days.
- Fixed an issue in our Canvas integration that could cause users to see a 500 error when signing in if an invalid role mapping was added to the identity provider.
- Fixed an issue that could cause podcasts to fail to encode for multi-stream RTMP webcasts.
- Fixed an issue where Zoom transcript processing failed for imported recording sessions linked to multiple contexts (e.g., Blackboard or Canvas). The system now correctly uses the Zoom context during transcript processing instead of other associated contexts.
- Fixed an issue when uploading videos into the VCMS that could cause the session's activity log to not indicate when the video finished uploading.
- Fixed an issue related to media filename obfuscation in which sessions restored from archive that could cause secondary streams to fail to play in the Panopto viewer.
- Fixed an issue with iframeLoginShown event not triggering when authentication is needed. With this update the event will trigger from within the Embed player page when the login button is shown.
- Fixed an issue where Zoom transcript processing failed for imported recording sessions linked to multiple contexts (e.g., Blackboard or Canvas). The system now correctly uses the Zoom context during transcript processing instead of other associated contexts.
- Fixed an issue in the editor with copied videos that could cause the session to fail to process if streams were uploaded in the editor.
- Fixed an issue that could cause Automatic machine captioning to fail to process for some sessions.
Knowledge Insights
- Adds the Session Insights Dashboard and supporting navigation features. Customers will now have the ability to search for a specific session by SessionID or name or navigate to the Session Dashboard by clicking a row from the System or Creation dashboards. The Sessions dashboard menu item will appear once the data is loaded for your account. We expect the data to be fully available by October 31st. For additional details, please see this article
- Fixed an issue with the System Session Storage report in Knowledge Insights that displayed incorrect data
Connect
- Adds the ability to build more complex and organized Panopto Connect sites with multi-layer navigation. This update allows you to nest pages within the menu, creating sub-menus and a clearer site hierarchy. The new navigation is simple to set up in edit mode and provides a fully responsive experience that works perfectly on both desktop and mobile devices. This functionality will automatically be available to all Connect portals with no additional action required.
- Adds the ability to perform a keyword search across videos on the Connect platform. This feature aids content discovery and improves site navigation, making it easier to find the content you need. This functionality will automatically be available to all Connect portals with no additional action required.
Access AI
- Fixed an issue on the Panopto Viewer that could prevent users from navigating through the Key Points and Summaries panel with keyboard controls.
