Unable to View Panopto Videos via Moodle LMS – “Error Processing Request”

Description:
Students are unable to access Panopto videos embedded in Moodle LMS course pages. When attempting to view the videos, they receive the following error message:
“Error processing request.”

Impact:

  • Affects all students enrolled in courses using Panopto videos within Moodle LMS.
  • Prevents access to essential course content, potentially disrupting learning activities.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Log in to Moodle LMS as a student.
  2. Navigate to any course page containing Panopto video links.
  3. Click on the video link or embedded player.
  4. Observe the error message: “Error processing request.”

Expected Behavior:
Videos should load and play without error when accessed from Moodle LMS course pages.

Current Behavior:
Videos fail to load and display the error message instead.

Troubleshooting Performed:

  • Verified that videos appear in Panopto Completed Recordings after processing and are correctly renamed and assigned to folders.
  • Submitted a support ticket to Panopto for further investigation.
  • Confirmed issue persists across multiple courses and student accounts.
