Panopto Core
- Updated LTI 1.3 multiple deployments feature for Canvas and Brightspace to now additionally support the 'Include Zoom videos during course copy' and 'Include scheduled recordings during course copy' IDP settings. This allows customers to configure their Canvas/Brightspace integrations to optionally include Zoom/Remote Recorder sessions in course copy for certain dept/subaccounts but not all.
This functionality is controlled by the optional Multiple LTI 1.3 Deployments feature for Canvas and Brightspace LTI 1.3 integrations. - Implemented an update to provide viewers with better context about videos that have been archived. This change addresses the need to determine the relevance of an archived video before committing to a restoration. Information Displayed on the thumbnail will include: Title of video; Description; Duration of video; Creation date and Archive date. There is no setting associated with this change. It will automatically be applied to all sites with no additional action required.
- Implemented a new profanity list that now covers all languages supported by our Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) service. This change will automatically be applied to all sites with no additional action required.
- Improved Embed video player buttons contrast to meet accessibility standards. This guarantees sufficient contrast between the white controls and their immediate background, regardless of the visual content of the video playing underneath. This change will automatically be applied to all sites with no additional action required.
- Updates to support Canvas security changes that will reject any HTTP requests that do not include a User-Agent header.
- Fixed an issue with SAVE AS in the editor that could cause an "Unable to Copy Video" error when choosing to discard cut sections in the new video.
- Fixed an issue with Microsoft Teams integrations that could cause specific meetings to fail to import into Panopto if the destination folder was deleted. If the user’s default folder no longer exists, recordings are imported into the user’s personal “Meeting Recordings” folder.
- Fixed an issue where the sessions failed to process if the PPT files were too large needing more disk space.
- Fixed an issue where users were not getting accurate information on the expected availability of restored videos from Archive.
- Fixed an issue in the MS Teams desktop app where channel authentication incorrectly used the machine's Windows credentials instead of the intended Teams user, resolving unauthorized access and credential conflicts.
- Fixed an issue where the Panopto settings page within the Microsoft Teams application was incorrectly displaying private channels.
- Fixed an issue with Remote Recorder Live Audio Monitoring that could cause it to fail to start successfully when users attempt to listen to audio.
- Resolved an issue where a user could not download a transcript on the Panopto Mobile App.
- Implemented solution to remedy a problem of folders not loading or taking an extended time to load when browsing all folders.
Connect
- Introduced the ability to edit and update banner text directly on the Connect Portal banner page. This new, intuitive experience removes a step, making quick edits much faster without opening the edit modal. This change will automatically be applied to all sites with no additional action required.
- Implemented Nested Navigation on the Connect Portal, allowing Portal Managers to apply the functionality for adding child navigation items to existing child navigation items; this capability creates deeply nested, multi-level menus that enable better categorization and organization of content. This change will automatically be applied to all sites with no additional action required.
- Improved the browsing experience within Panopto Connect Portals by making the header and main navigation persistent as you scroll down the page. This change will automatically be applied to all sites with no additional action required.
- Added breadcrumbs to Panopto Connect portals to improve navigation for users by allowing them to easily get back to different pages within the portal. This functionality will automatically be made available as a navigation option to all portals and is controlled within the Settings->Design & Layout section.
- Added a new, Footer section across all pages of the Connect Portal, starting with a simple, customizable copyright notice. By default, the Footer displays a standard copyright notice: © [Current Year] All rights reserved. This functionality will automatically be made available as an option to all portals and the visibility of the copyright can be controlled by:
- Hide Control: When you hover over the copyright text, a "Hide" menu item appears, allowing you to instantly hide the copyright notice from the footer.
- Add Control: If the copyright is hidden, the footer will display an "Add Copyright" button, which instantly restores the copyright notice.
- Resolved an accessibility issue affecting keyboard navigation within the video carousel in the Connect Portal using TAB key.
Access AI
- Fixed an issue with the custom role 'Caption Requestor for Creators' where the 'Request Translations' checkbox could fail to allow users to request Access AI translations.
