Panopto for Windows & Remote Recorder Update 2026-26-01 (Version 16.0)

Please note that this update went live after business hours on January 26th.
A new client version, 16.0, has been released for both Panopto for Windows and the Remote Recorder. The release addressed the following issues:
- Fixed an issue that would sometimes prevent Live Audio Monitoring from starting.
- Fix an issue that would sometimes forcefully sign out users from Panopto for Windows, resulting in videos not being uploaded.
- Fixed an issue with Panopto for Windows where silent audio notifications were appearing in the Windows Event Viewer as "Informational" instead of "Warning."
- Fixed an issue in Panopto for Windows that could cause silent audio notifications not to be posted in Windows application logs if the Panopto for Windows setting "Enable no audio detected alerts" is disabled.
Admins who would like to delay this update for their users can do so by going to their site settings and disabling the setting Notifications Desktop Application - Version Updates (see How to Change Site-Wide Settings). This will hide the user prompt to upgrade their client if a new version is available.
Note: Panopto Admins will see this notification regardless of its setting.

Users may need to reauthenticate after upgrading to the new version.
