Connect Redesigned Video Configuration
The Video Banner configuration has been redesigned to make it easier to create and edit your pages.

  • When selecting a video or playlist to be added, a new "Continue" button will appear. Clicking this lets you choose a layout for how your video(s) appear.
  • Default section layouts are determined by content placement: content placed at the top of a page defaults to Carousel, while content placed elsewhere defaults to Video Row.
  • Grid layouts will now display a "Show More" toggle if content overflows the default section size.
  • Enhancements to the configuration widget let you toggle between content selection and layout styling without losing progress.

Additionally, the portal editing experience has been improved by introducing an inline editor. Hover over the section you would like to edit to see a new toolbar to edit text and headers.

Relocated the video progress bar to the bottom of the thumbnail to prevent it from obscuring content.

Fixed an issue in which the Zoom import tool ignored the "mapped meetings only" settings. Manual imports will now honor the organization eligibility rule.

Improved text contrast and time field styling to improve table view readability in the Panopto Web App.

Fixed an issue that sometimes caused audio description requests to fail if the Panopto site content language was set to English UK or English AUS.

Fixed an issue in Firefox and Safari where the "Copy Link" button failed to select or copy the link despite displaying a "Link selected" notification.

Access AI
Added French Canadian (FR-CA) caption support.

    The Caption Requester role has been updated to include a checkbox that allows these users to request audio descriptions. This is disabled by default; any users already in this group will not be able to request audio descriptions until this checkbox is toggled.

    Additionally, a checkbox has been added to allow these users to request translations. This is enabled by default, and all users in this group will see the option to request translations unless the group is updated.

    The Caption Requester for Creators role has been updated to include a checkbox that allows these users to request audio descriptions. This is disabled by default; any users already in this group will not be able to request audio descriptions until this checkbox is toggled.

    These updates will be applied alongside the improvements outlined in the post above.

    The Caption Requester role was not updated to enable translations by default, as mentioned above, due to unexpected circumstances. This will instead go into effect by the end of this week (Feb. 20th).

    If you would like users in this group to request translations, navigate to System > Roles > Caption Requester, then tick the checkbox for translations.
