[RESOLVED] Notification of issue affecting Panopto/Canvas Video Completion and Quiz-Based Grading

Hello, we wanted to let you know about an issue that may affect how Panopto grade passback works with Canvas.
What is the issue?
On June 20th, Canvas released an update that changed how User-Agent headers are handled. Although this update was communicated, the OAuth endpoints responsible for grade passback were not included in the list of affected areas. As a result, both video completion and quiz-based grading for LTI 1.3 assignments are impacted.
How do I tell if this affects me?
If you are currently using Panopto and Canvas for video completion or quiz-based grading for LTI 1.3 assignments, this has a potential impact.
How do I mitigate the issue?
At this time, there are no mitigation steps; however, grades recorded in Panopto continue to work as expected.
We are actively working with Canvas to determine whether the change to these endpoints was intentional and to establish a path forward. We will update this thread within 7 days or sooner as we continue to investigate.

The Panopto team is still actively engaged with Canvas to resolve the grade pass-back issue. We understand how frustrating this disruption is, and we are treating this with the highest urgency. While we don't have a final resolution to share just yet, we are fully focused on getting things back to normal for you as quickly as possible. We will provide another update by the end of the week, or sooner if new information becomes available.
The Panopto Team is actively working with Canvas to pinpoint recent changes impacting our grade pass-back functionality. To resolve this as quickly as possible, our engineering team is also developing a hotfix, which we tentatively plan to deploy within the next week.
We will update this post as soon as the fix is live or if we have new information to share. We sincerely apologize for the disruption this is causing to your workflow, and please know we are treating this matter with the highest priority.
Working closely with the Canvas team, we have resolved the issue affecting grade passback. To ensure a seamless experience for you moving forward, we are also continuing to monitor and conduct extra checks to guarantee that gradebook reporting aligns with all of the latest Canvas updates.
