Panopto 17.2 - Batch Scheduling & Owner Change - July 30th, 2026

Release 2026-07-31 v17.2.0

This update will be applied after business hours on Wednesday, July 29th for AU/APAC/JP and Thursday, July 30th for EU/CA/NA.

Batch Scheduling with the Remote Recorder

Instead of individually applying schedules one Remote Recorder at a time, you can now apply multiple schedules across all of your Remote Recorders with just a few button clicks.

Simply prepare a CSV containing your schedule details, then upload it via the Remote Recorder UI in your Panopto site.

Panopto will automatically verify your file and flag any potential conflicts or mistakes, pointing you directly to where tweaks are needed. Admins can also override existing schedules through this method, ensuring all schedules match exactly what is in your file.

Batch Change Owners

Admins can now update the Owner for multiple videos at once. Similar to applying captions or moving multiple videos, select all the videos you'd like to update, then click the new Change Owner option next to the Move and Request Captions options.

Note that changing the Owner does not inherently grant access to the video, and Panopto will warn you if you attempt to add an Owner to a video they cannot view or edit. If you're applying a new Owner to videos that live in another person's My Folder or a restricted folder, we recommend first moving the videos to a folder that the new Owner has access to.

Site Header Refresh

You may have noticed a pop-up notifying you that we'll be moving the Create menu. Following this release, the Create menu will now sit right next to your account icon.

Nothing has changed in what's available in this menu or how creating new content works; this is purely a visual change to better save space and give Panopto a cleaner, more modern look.
