Embed Panopto videos into a Powerpoint

I would like to be able to embed panopto videos into a Powerpoint presentation (to be presented in person) the way I can currently do for YouTube videos etc. When you attempt to insert an online video in PPT (Desktop app for Windows, Version 2609 Build 20430.20180) I get the following dialogue:
When I attempt to enter either a URL or embed code of a Panopto video into the address bar there, I get the message "couldn't recognize this link, please try again"
