Pre-Recording Audio and Video Check
It would be really useful if Panopto Desktop included an option to test audio and video before starting a recording. At present, students can start recording a presentation without necessarily knowing whether their microphone is capturing their voice at a suitable volume or whether their slides and screen are being recorded correctly.
A simple pre-recording check would allow users to make a short test recording and play it back to check that their voice is clear and audible, the microphone level is sufficient, and the correct screen and presentation content are being captured.
It would also be helpful if Panopto could flag microphone input that is unusually low before the user starts recording. This would help prevent students from completing an entire assessed presentation only to discover afterwards that the audio is barely audible or the presentation hasn't been captured correctly.
