Warn Users if Webcam or Screen Capture Stops During Recording
It would be really useful if Panopto could detect when webcam or screen capture stops working during a recording and immediately alert the user. At present, a user could continue delivering an entire presentation without realising that their webcam has disconnected or their screen is no longer being captured. They might only discover the problem when they play the recording back afterwards.
Ideally, Panopto would display a clear warning if any of the selected recording sources disconnect or stop capturing content, allowing the user to resolve the problem before continuing. This would be particularly useful for students recording assessed presentations, as discovering afterwards that part of the presentation is missing could mean having to record the whole thing again.
