Removing streams in the Panopto editor
Hi All,
I'm experimenting with uploading multiple streams (automated tracking camera as primary source with other cameras on chalkboards). - is there any way once ingested that you can disable or delete one stream completely? The reason why I ask is one of the streams was a wide shot that I really didn't mean to ingest. So it would be nice to get rid of that and not have it as a viewable secondary source.
Any suggestions, other than to start over and just not upload that one file? And if it isn't an option, could this be an added feature request at some point?
Thanks!
Elaine

Hi Elaine,
You can't remove a stream from within the editor. The recommended path to take would be to use the Focus tool. You can learn about how to use this tool here: How to Use the Focus Tool in the Editor.
If you absolutely must delete a stream, you can do it from within your Panopto site - but please note that this would permanently delete the video.
Open your session's Settings menu by either hovering over it in your folder and selecting the "Settings" button that appears, or by selecting the cog wheel icon from the top right corner of the editor:
Select the "Streams" tab from the left-hand navigation of the Settings menu, and then hover over the stream you want to delete. Select the "X" that appears on the right-hand side:
I do want to reiterate that this will permanently delete the stream, so we typically recommend using the Focus tool (mentioned above), instead.
I hope this helps - please let us know if you have any more questions, we're always happy to help!
Best wishes,

Hi Cait,
Thanks, that's a great answer, and exactly what I was looking for. These are large files and one was uploaded by accident, so permanent deletion was what I was looking for.
I appreciate the response.
