Download an unprocessed Panopto file/video

Hi there,

I hope you are well

I have an upload/file from a student that appears as an empty shell but I can see was not processed and cannot be accessed, I understand that the cause can be: the file format is supported by Panopto but the video and/or audio codec is not.

However I would like to know if this "empty file" can still be downloaded so I can perhaps convert it and reupload it, would this be possible?

Hey Ron,

Great question here. Unfortunately there isn't a way that you'll be able to download that session since it failed to process.

If the video uploaded successfully our Support team may be able to access it on the server with admin permission.

I would recommend sending an email to [email protected] with the link to the video that failed to see if we can recover it for you.

Simply navigate to Session Settings and grab the viewer link from the middle of the page:
