Are there reserved characters which are not allowed to be used in titles of recordings we upload?

We've discovered that some of our clients have creative session descriptions when publishing recordings from our system to Panopto using the API we've noticed that greater-than-signs and smaller-than-signs are not retained in Panopto. We would like to know whether this is a bug on our side or in the API or a known limitation. Do we need to inform our clients not to use certain characters for metadata content?

    Hi Karel,

Thank you for raising this question and I apologize the delay of answer.

Panopto currently rejects smaller than sign (<) and greater than sign (>) in session title from a technical reason.

    We apologize the inconvenience.

We plan to address this limitation in an upcoming cloud update.
