Notes and/or Discussion input should include video or audio recorder.

Being able to make a text comment in Notes or Discussion that is tied to the timeline is great. Some people would like to leave video or audio comments in the timeline. Could Notes and/or Discussion include this type of recorder input?

I do believe this is on the roadmap, I could be wrong though. At the very least it is a need that Panopto is aware of. Along with the new changes to the discussion workflow and the soon-to-be-released discussion notifications, this would take the discussions tool in Panopto from a seldom-used tool to something that courses/students benefit from.
