GetGroupAccessDetails - reference copies - potental bug?

maybe i've done something wrong but hopefully not - we're trying to clean up our instance by removing un-used user groups (groups with users, but the content or folder has been removed so the group is now redundant). we've crafted a script to list groups, then check if they have access to any folders or sessions using the GetGroupAccessDetails function. this initially appears to work but on manual checks it seems not to highlight if the group has access to a reference copy of a session. has anyone else come across this or is this a bug in the GetGroupAccessDetails API call?

That should absolutely change. Just because it's a reference copy doesn't make the permissions less relevant.

This is currently by design but we will investigate on our end if this should change.

    Thank you.

  • I agree with Charles, a reference copy is a video regardless so if permissions are granted to the group they should be reported back. If this could be investigated and updated it would be appreciated.
