Hello - We want to let you know about an issue affecting Panopto for Mac 15.

What is the issue?

Recordings made using Panopto for Mac version 15 may result in some content not being correctly recorded and/or the audio and video becoming out of sync. 

Which versions of Panopto are affected?

Panopto for Mac 15 is affected

How do I tell if this affects me?

All users of Panopto for Mac 15 are potentially affected by this issue and should take the following mitigation steps.

How do I mitigate the issue?

For Mac users, it is advised to use Panopto Capture until a recorder is released that addresses the issue. Instructions on how to do so can be found here.

When will this be resolved?

The Panopto Engineering team are actively working on a fix to address this issue. While an exact ETA cannot yet be provided Panopto Support will update this post no later than 2025-08-01.

    The Panopto Engineering team continues to work toward a solution for the issues affecting Panopto for Mac v15. In the interim, version 14 has been reinstated as the current version. Additionally, Panopto Capture is available for use as an alternative to the desktop application.

    Panopto Support will update this post with additional information no later than 2025-08-15.
