Regarding the Panopto SOAP API Specifications
1. Are there any thresholds set for SOAP API calls?
In other services, for example, there is almost always an upper limit on the number of calls allowed within a certain time period (such as 1 minute or 60 minutes).
Some services, like Zoom, categorize calls based on load and have even more granular settings.
2. Regarding the IUsermanagement.ListGroups method for retrieving a list of groups, the `MaxNumberResults` parameter allows you to specify the number of groups to retrieve per call.
What is the maximum number that can be specified here?
I only need groups with a `GroupType` of `Internal`.
However, it appears that the ListGroups method does not allow you to filter the results in advance when making the request.
Therefore, I first need to retrieve information on all groups.
Currently, there are 21,707 groups (according to the API call results; 21,704 in the admin interface).
I’d like to specify as large a number as possible to reduce the number of pagination steps.
Thank you.

Hi Sakae,
1. SOAP rate limits
The SOAP API, including
IUserManagement.ListGroups, has no call-rate limit (per second, minute, or hour). We do limit unfair usage with API gateway.Rate limits apply to the REST API. Defaults are 5 requests per second, 100 per minute, and 5,000 per hour, per client and endpoint. These can be changed per site if you ask support.
2.
ListGroups/MaxNumberResultsThere is no maximum. Any positive number is accepted. If you omit it, or send 0, the default is 25.
For about 21,707 groups, one call is enough:
PageNumber: 0MaxNumberResults: 21707 or higher (for example 25000)
ListGroupscannot filter byGroupType.
The response includes internal, Active Directory, and external groups. Keep only rows whereGroupTypeisInternal.TotalResultCountcan be a few higher than the admin UI, because it includes system groups that are not shown there.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,-Adis
