API for Webcast with RTMP

Hello,

I was searching the docs for a way to start a webcast with RTMP via the API (we want to automatically live-stream our Zoom Meetings to Panopto). I only found endpoints in the doc to start regular sessions. Is there an endpoint to schedule/start a webcast with RTMP?

Hi Kevin,
Yes, you can start a webcast with RTMP using the SOAP API. You would need to make two calls:
Call SessionManagement.AddSession (https://support.panopto.com/resource/APIDocumentation/Help/html/ad640a16-d590-6360-fcb8-9de49419dde7.htm), making sure to set IsBroadcast to true. This will create an empty session to use for the webcast.
Call SessionManagement.UpdateSessionSetRTMPBroadcast (https://support.panopto.com/resource/APIDocumentation/Help/html/a7a42a17-60e8-a02c-b802-0bc230748add.htm) with the session ID from step 1. This should return the URLs to use for the RTMP broadcast.
