Hi, my university uses Panopto, but the video captioning only shows 5-8 words at a time. Is it possible to increase the number of characters or words Panopto shows at a time?
Showing sentences in 5-8 word chunks makes complex topics like STEM hard to understand. It also means that the captions sometimes don't remain on screen long enough to be read. This can be a particular problem for hard-of-hearing students who depend on captions for lecture videos.
Netflix and Amazon use much longer captions, resulting in easier-to-follow video captioning. Can Panopto do the same?

Hi @Laurel Maury,
There is a 384-character limitation to individual caption entries, which is why only a handful of words may appear at one time. As a workaround, you could edit your captions' timestamps so that they appear longer for your viewers. The instructions for this can be found in How to Edit or Delete Captions: Edit the Timestamp.
Alternatively, as a workaround, students watching with captioning can follow along and see the full captioning in the Viewer if they click on the Captions tab while viewing a video:
Otherwise, I would suggest adding a New Feature Request for longer captions.
