Hello - We want to let you know about an issue affecting caption editing with Firefox.
What is the issue?
The following steps will cause certain manually entered caption edits to be discarded:
- With Firefox, edit ASR-generated captions in a video.
- Click on a caption entry.
- Replace a low-confidence word (see definition in section 3.4).
- Press Enter or click somewhere else in the editor.
Both the low-confidence word and replacement text will be erased.
Which versions of Panopto are affected?
All Panopto Cloud customers using Firefox are affected.
How do I mitigate the issue?
Edit captions with another supported browser.
When will this be resolved?
We are targeting the fix for a release that is expected to be available to all Panopto Cloud customers by January 27, 2023.
